BILL ROBINSON


William G. Robinson was born in Galt, Ontario and attended Penn State University on a golf scholarship. After receiving a degree in Landscape Architecture, he worked for Robert Trent Jones, Sr. for two summers and then joined Geoffrey Cornish of Amherst, Massachusetts in 1964. He apprenticed with Cornish for sixteen years. He has been a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects for twenty-four years.

In 1979, Bill opened his own office in Calgary. In 1984, he moved his office to White Rock, B.C. He bought a golf course in Florence, Oregon in 1989 and has been there ever since.

Bill has designed more than three hundred new golf courses, which are now in play. He has done Master Plans for more than one hundred and ninety established courses throughout Canada and the United States.

Some of the courses Bill has done in Western Canada are Cougar Creek Golf Resort, The Links at Spruce Grove, Lewis Estates, Cordova Bay and Gallagher's Canyon. He just finished Eagle Ranch in Invermere, B.C. Master Plans include the Red Deer Golf & Country Club, Inglewood, Innisfail, Edmonton Country Club and Jasper Park Lodge.
